The Eur.Erg. title was introduced by leading ergonomists from the ergonomics associations of Europe to promote the quality of professional services.
The Eur.Erg. title ensures that the ergonomist has:
- a broad education in ergonomics at university level
- at least three years of practical experience as an ergonomist
- continuously developed his or her skills in ergonomics
European Ergonomists are professional ergonomists who have a knowledge of the principles of ergonomics and of the relevant human characteristics in the areas of anatomy, physiology, psychology and social organisation, as well as knowledge of how the physical environment affects people. Applicants for this qualification must also demonstrate knowledge in statistics, experimental design, equipment and methods to investigate, modify or design situations and equipment for ergonomic benefits.
All successful applicants will have demonstrated experience in taking full responsibility for the use and application of ergonomics knowledge and methods in practical situations over a period of at least two years beyond their main ergonomics education and training.
European Ergonomists will have agreed to abide by the CREE Code of Conduct. Those in research related to practical applications are equally as acceptable as are those in professional employment, in consultancies or other businesses.
Registration is valid for a period of 5 years after which renewed assessment has to take place. This guarantees a continuous professional quality both for the European Ergonomist and the employer or client.
